Virginia Hunger Solutions' Identity & Website
Virginia Hunger Solutions is an initiative of the Virginia Poverty Law Center (VPLC) and the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) to fight hunger and improve the nutrition, health, and well-being of children and families throughout the Commonwealth who struggle with poverty. When VPLC approached Sagetopia, they were looking to move the Virginia Hunger Solutions information from their site to a microsite. I was the lead designer for this project.
Visit WebsiteBranding
The first part of the project was to create a logo and brand for CEP, a program area of Virginia Hunger Solutions. In the initial stage, we discovered that Virginia Hunger Solutions had a logo but no brand. We decided to instead create a brand for Virginia Hunger Solutions which would be applied to CEP. We also recommended that the Virginia Hunger Solutions logo be updated for online usage which resulted in a simplified version of the logo.
CEP Identity & Collateral
CEP is a powerful tool that allows high poverty schools and school divisions to offer breakfast and lunch to all students at no charge. The goal was to create an identity that was bold, vibrant, and relatable. In addition to the logo, I created a toolkit filled with information about the program.
Website
The website was created in stages starting with the CEP page which later served as a template for the other programs areas. For the CEP page, we created an interactive map that provides information about the program participants and shows the progress of the program over time.
