Veterans’ Transition Forum's Website Design
Veterans’ Transition Forum (VTF) is a non-profit organization that helps existing and transitioning veterans find their best career or job related option. VTF's core program lies in providing mentoring services in all phases of small business and franchise ownership.
Visit WebsiteThe Project
The two main goals of the project were (1) to redesign the website so users could easily find information pertinent to their needs and (2) to setup a system that VTF could easily update with new resources. I started the project by conducting a site audit. I found that VTF had good information on their website but it was hard to digest due to a lack of hierarchy and no clear call to actions. I worked with VTF to create a sitemap for their new website and determine the content for their homepage.
Early Designs
VTF came into the project with a logo but the rest of their brand was inconsistent so I created an updated color palette and simple brand guide for their reference. Because of budget restrictions, the website was built on a WordPress theme that was customized to meet VTF's needs. I designed a few custom page templates along with some reusable components necessary for VTF's resource library.
